Refund Policy
1. Scope
This Refund & Returns Policy applies to purchases made by consumers through the Electric Bike Parts Shop website.
This policy does not affect your statutory rights under UK law.
2. 14-Day Right to Cancel (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013)
2.1 Cancellation Period
You have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving the goods without giving any reason.
The cancellation period expires 14 days after the day you (or a person you nominate) receive the goods.
2.2 How to Cancel
To exercise your right to cancel, you must notify us in writing (email is acceptable) before the 14-day period expires.
You must clearly state:
Your name
Order number
The items you wish to return
Reason for return
2.3 Returning the Goods
You must return the goods within 14 days of notifying us of cancellation.
You are responsible for the direct cost of returning the goods.
We recommend using a tracked service. We are not responsible for returns lost in transit.
3. Condition of Returned Goods
3.1 Reasonable Handling
You may handle the goods only to the extent necessary to establish their nature, characteristics, and functioning — as you would in a physical shop.
3.2 Deductions for Diminished Value
We reserve the right to deduct from your refund any loss in value resulting from handling beyond what is necessary.
This includes (but is not limited to):
Installed, fitted, or used parts
Items showing signs of wear, grease, tool marks, or damage
Missing packaging or components
Removed protective seals or labels
Opened sealed electrical or battery units
Where goods cannot be resold as new due to customer handling, we may reduce the refund proportionately or refuse a refund where the item has no resale value.
4. Non-Returnable Items (Where Permitted by Law)
The following items are non-returnable unless faulty:
Custom or special-order items
Items made to your specifications
Sealed goods not suitable for return for health or hygiene reasons once unsealed
Lithium batteries or electrical components where safety seals have been broken
Consumable workshop items once opened
Nothing in this section affects your rights in respect of faulty or misdescribed goods.
5. Installation and Compatibility
It is your responsibility to ensure compatibility before purchase.
Parts that have been installed, fitted, or partially installed are considered used and may be subject to:
A reduced refund; or
Refusal where resale is not reasonably possible.
Incorrect ordering does not make goods faulty.
6. Return Shipping Costs
6.1 If you cancel under the 14-day cooling-off period, you are responsible for return shipping costs.
6.2 If goods are faulty, damaged, or incorrectly supplied, we will cover reasonable return costs.
6.3 We will only reimburse standard delivery costs originally paid. Premium or express delivery upgrades are non-refundable.
7. Inspection Process
7.1 All returned goods are subject to inspection.
7.2 Refunds will not be issued until inspection is complete.
7.3 If returned goods are found to be:
Used beyond reasonable inspection
Damaged by incorrect installation
Not in original condition
We may reduce or refuse the refund and will notify you with reasons.
8. Faulty Goods (Consumer Rights Act 2015)
We are legally required to supply goods that are:
Of satisfactory quality
Fit for purpose
As described
If goods are faulty:
Within 30 Days of Delivery
You may reject the goods and request a full refund.
After 30 Days (Up to 6 Months)
We are entitled to offer a repair or replacement before a refund.
We may require reasonable evidence of the fault, including photographs or return of the item for testing.
We are not responsible for faults caused by:
Incorrect installation
Misuse
Normal wear and tear
Accidental damage
Use contrary to manufacturer instructions
9. Proof of Purchase
We require proof of purchase (order number or receipt) for all refunds, replacements, or exchanges.
10. Refund Processing
10.1 Refunds will be issued to the original payment method.
10.2 We will process refunds within 14 days of:
Receiving the returned goods; or
Receiving evidence that the goods have been returned.
10.3 If a deduction applies for diminished value, this will be clearly explained.
11. Exchanges
We do not offer automatic exchanges. Customers must return the original item and place a new order.
12. Incorrectly Ordered Items
Where items are ordered incorrectly (wrong size, wrong specification, wrong compatibility), returns are accepted under the 14-day cancellation period only and must meet the condition requirements above.
Return postage remains your responsibility.
13. Liability
Nothing in this policy limits or excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or statutory consumer rights.
Our liability shall not exceed the purchase price of the relevant goods.
